A small thank you…. Corvette Rolex 24 Wallpaper

As a special treat, and thank you for the tens of thousands who downloaded my IMSA Spotter Guide for the recent Rolex24, I am making available a free wallpaper featuring an illustration of the GTLM finish with Oliver Gavin leading Antonio Garcia by just 0.034 seconds over on my main design site, AndyBlackmoreDesign

The next Spotter Guide will be the IMSA guide for Sebring, available on 14th March. In the meantime, I will be releasing my annual Racing Wall Planner later this month.

2016 IMSA Rolex 24 Spotter Guide now live

The first of the 2016 IMSA Spotter Guides is now available to download on the new dedicated new 2016 IMSA Page.

The Rolex 24 Guide is jam packed with over 90 car illustrations split across all four classes in the WeatherTech Championship along with the Continental Series.

2016 IMSA WeatherTech Class designations

IMSA have commissioned me for many year to produce their official Spotter Guide (the Rolex edition gets released later today!). In recent years this has extended to additional illustrations for internal and external presentations and illustrations for their on track support, web and the IMSA app. An example of this is IMSA’s overview of the 2016 Classes post on IMSA.com

These blank car illustrations will also feature in the IMSA Raceday viewing guide booklet and around the track on hoardings aiding fan, old and new. A great example where a company can re-use and maximise their ‘investment’ in quality illustrations.

‘The Winning cars of Justin Wilson’ Print Teasers

The untimely death of British driver Justin Wilson has left a huge void in the racing community, but also, more importantly with the Wilson family. He was always a gentleman and as so many have stated, was someone you simply aspire to be as a person.

So, I’ve tried to do my part in a small way, as has many drivers, teams, series and other individuals to help Justin’s family with some financial stability in the future. I have partnered with Ryan Long, who is the Art Director at INDYCAR, to produce a very limited edition print which, all being well be part of the Justin Wilson auction on ebay on the evening of 19th October. All proceeds will go to the Justin Wilson Children’s Fund.

Each day, until Monday, we will release a teaser image on social media, showing one of the 14 cars we illustrated, starting with the Formula Palmer Audi championship winning car.

Many years ago I produced a series of Champ Car Illustrations including Justin Wilson’s RuSport Champ Car. I pulled this illustration of Justin’s helmet off the artwork. Its not great detail, but feel free to use the image to show your support for Justin, his family, colleagues and friends in this difficult time. Number of updates below , please read.

Rest in peace, Badass

STATEMENT: Tour de France Spotter Guide

It is with regret, I will not be releasing a Spotter Guide for the 2015 Tour de France.

Despite an awesome response from 2/3rds of the teams for reference and rider lists, one team, Team BMC, refused to participate in the guide or approve their inclusion unless I was fully licensed by ASO, the organiser of the Tour, essentially becoming an official guide.

This is the first time in eleven years that ANY team has had an issue with a FREE Fan Spectator Guide. Most are very helpful and welcoming of extra exposure, but I have to respect their decision.

While I have media accreditation with the ASO, with less than a week to go before the event, I have been unable to get a response from the organisers for their approval. They quite rightly have bigger things to deal with!
